Having had a look at the ‘four functions’ applied to whole numbers, and a bit of measuring, we move slowly into fractions. The links below will help you get ahead with what we need to cover…

- A series of YouTube videos on fractions by a teacher from Manchester. These are good and worth watching, but you might want to wait until we cover it all in class.
Why metric units now? Because of the feedback on your diagnostics and because of the way measuring throws up powers of 10 and multiplying and dividing by 10.

- Print a sheet of squared paper to keep your columns neat
- Print a handout with some extra information on place notation
And, as people seemed mostly quite confident with the work this morning, you might want to try a couple of tests! These will open in a new window.
